Research on Aging

01-16-2013 Ranked 11th by Thomson Reuters for January;b2February 2011, in the field of gerontology. A peer-reviewed journal for scholars, researchers, and practitioners. It is interdisciplinary in approach, with articles from sociology, history, psychology, anthropology, economics, social work, political science, criminal justice, geriatrics, and public health. Research and review articles cover topics in all these fields as they relate to aging and the elderly, such as age discrimination, Alzheimer's disease, caretaking, and the aging workforce. The journal publishes full and brief reports on original research, systematic literature reviews, meta-analyses, and editorials. Each issue has five to eight articles. Among recent articles are "Comparison of Inflammatory, Metabolic, and Anthropometric Parameters in Elderly Women With and Without Insulin Resistance," "Residential Context, Social Relationships, and Subjective Well-Being in Assisted Living," and "Older Adults' Spiritual Needs in Health Care Settings: A Qualitative Meta-Synthesis."
