National Institute Economic Review

Publisher:  Sage Publications Ltd.
01-16-2013 This periodical was established in 1959 and is from one of Britain's oldest established independent economic research institutes. It covers quantitative research that illustrates a "deeper understanding of the interaction of economic and social forces that affect peoples' lives so that they may be improved." The institute receives no funding from private or public sources. There are six basic sections: "Economic Overview," "Commentary," "The UK Economy," "The World Economy," "Research Articles," and "Main Economic Events." The last is a statistical appendix that gives series information on the GDP, output volumes, prices, unemployment, imports and exports, monthly economic indicators, and financial indicators. Strongly recommended for libraries with large economics collections or those that support international studies. (Crowley, Gwyneth H.)
