01-16-2013 This publication of the National Association of Secondary School Principals supports the decision-making and practices of middle level and high school principals. Its articles address current issues and emphasize effective administration and leadership. Issues contain research and scholarly articles authored by faculty and professionals in the field. Various themes are explored, such as teacher dress codes; student achievement and high school principals; facilitating change; implementing high school grades and advanced placement; mobile students and academic achievement; technology standards for school administrators; supporting student teachers; preventing school violence; developing teacher leaders; and after-school and summer programs. The editors have given priority to particular topics, for example, middle level principalship; reading to learn; altering school start times; funding and equity; literacy in the middle level and high school; and teacher effectiveness, recruitment, and retainment.
