Journal of Peace Research

Publisher:  Sage Publications Ltd.
01-16-2013 The Journal of Peace Research is published by the International Peace Research Association. Edited at the Peace Research Institute, it is supported by the Nordic Publishing Board in Social Sciences. It is an interdisciplinary, international quarterly that provides empirical, theoretical, and timely articles on global security and peace. It addresses the causes of violence, methods of conflict resolution, and ways of sustaining peace. A recent article, "Does transnational terrorism reduce foreign direct investment? Business-related versus non-business-related terrorism," proves that when countries execute counterterrorism measures that are projected to lessen the impact of business-related terrorist activities, they are likely to attract more foreign capital which eventually enhances economic development. Authors from over 50 countries have published in this journal. Each issue includes an extensive review section that presents and evaluates leading books in the field of peace research. This journal keeps the reader abreast of the latest developments in the area of peace studies, and it will be appreciated in academic libraries and peace research centers. (Kumar, Suhasini)
