Journal of Family History

01-16-2013 Interdisciplinary in scope and published in association with the National Council on Family Relations, this journal publishes contributions that represent the international perspective of historically based research on family, kinship, and population. Review essays, debates, book reviews, research notes, and thematic symposia are regular features. Scholarly research articles present viewpoints in relation to culture, gender, race, class, and sexuality. Recent articles include "Marrying in the City in Times of Rapid Urbanization," "Social Mobility and Reproduction Among Nineteenth-Century Colorado Silver Prospectors," "Daily Chicken: The Cultural Transmissions of Bourgeois Family Values in Adaptations of Literary Classics for Children, 1850-1950," and "Surnames and Gender in Japan: Women's Challenges in Seeking Own Identity."
