The focus is on topics of interest to academics. In one number the authors address such controversies as class politics and popular culture; administration of cultural activities; and a fascinating analysis of how Hollywood reworked history to come up with a popular film, Braveheart. The half dozen or so writers are academics, but all write well enough to attract a wide audience. A good acquisition for the European as well as the cultural section of the library. (B.K.)
