Autism

Publisher:  Sage Publications Ltd.
03-11-2008 The number of children being diagnosed with autism has dramatically increased over the past few years, and this journal helps fill the need for scholarly, research-based information. Interdisciplinary and international in approach, it focuses on evaluative research in all areas, including intervention, diagnosis, training, case study analyses of therapy, education, neurological issues, evaluation of particular therapies, quality of life issues, family issues and family services, medical and genetic issues, and epidemiological research. Most issues are organized around a given topic, and many include at least one substantial book review. The web site includes tables of contents with abstracts back to 1999 as well as a searchable database. It also lists the "most cited" and "most read" articles. An online sample copy can be downloaded from the web site. Both paper and online subscriptions are available. Recommended for academic libraries. (Naylor, Sharon)
