American Journal of Evaluation

11-15-1997 Sponsored by the American Evaluation Association, this journal focuses on methods of evaluation for social service programs and research. Articles define differing methods of assessment, e.g., sampling special populations, focus groups, and cluster evaluation techniques, and analyze them in terms of specific population groups. Journals are organized into forum sections, articles, interviews, and panel discussions, with extensive book reviews of varying numbers; one issue had three, another had 17. Issues also list relevant association meeting dates and locations. Due to the importance of evaluation in implementing and maintaining social services, this journal is recommended for academic libraries with curricula in social work, sociology, or education, and for libraries serving government agencies.
