Adult Education Quarterly

01-16-2013 A refereed journal dedicated to promoting the practice and understanding of adult and continuing education. Geared to practitioners at all levels of adult and continuing education, policy makers, scholars, and students, the journal aims to be inclusive regarding adult and continuing education topics and issues. Interdisciplinary and internationally focused articles, as well as critical problem-oriented research reports of value to practitioners, are of particular interest. In addition to qualitative and quantitative research reports, the journal publishes theoretical and philosophical analyses, critical literature reviews, position statement essays, book reviews, and editorials. Recent research includes studies on community in cyberspace; the effectiveness of older men's learning communities; cultural values and politics in planning adult educational programs in Korea; and a review of research on leadership development and social capital. Book reviews consider publications that are indirectly related, such as cultural studies, work and the economy, distance learning, and international development. A standard title for academic libraries, as well as adult education organizations. URL: http://aeq.sagepub.com (Shelton, Mark)
