The journal "Modeling and Analysis of Information Systems" publishes articles on informatics and mathematics which consider a wide range of problems connected with the analysis, design and development of information systems, as well as with the investigation of their mathematical models. The journal is intended for scientists, teachers, graduate students and students.
The journal is included by the Highest Certifying Commission ("VAK") into the List of leading reviewed scientific journals and editions. It is also included intothe system of the Russian Index of Scientific Citing.

| History | The history of the journal goes back to 1994 when some collected scientific articles were published under the name "Modeling and Analysis of Information Systems" (MAIS). Since then the edition has become annual, and the number of published issues per year increased from 2 up to 6. In 1999 the MAIS was registered as the periodical journal by the State Press Committee of the Russian Federation (the certificate of registration No. 019209), and also by the International Center of Registration of Serial Editions (ISSN International Centre), Paris, France (the ISSN 1818–1015). In May, 2012 the journal MAIS was registered by the Federal Service for Supervision in the Sphere of Telecom, Information Technologies and Mass Communications (ROSKOMNADZOR), the Certificate of registration No. ФС77-49724. Today the journal "Modeling and Analysis of Information Systems" is a bilingual (Russian, English) reviewed scientific periodical journal. The MAIS is published by the P.G. Demidov Yaroslavl State University with the frequency of 6 issues per year. In 2007 the journal was included by the Highest Certifying Commission ("VAK") into the List of leading reviewed scientific journals and editions. In October, 2014 the results of the open competition for receiving the state support for Russian scientific journals development and their promotion into the international scientific information space were announced. The journal "Modeling and Analysis of Information Systems" was among 30 winners (in all, 536 applications were submitted for the competition) and became one of two mathematical journals – the winners in the direction "Exact and Natural Sciences". |
