The Library

01-16-2013 The Library is a publication of the Bibliographical Society, and is the premier scholarly journal on the study of bibliography and book history in the U.K. "All aspects of descriptive, analytical, textual[,] and historical bibliography come within" the scope of The Library. The journal typically devotes each issue to two or three full-length scholarly articles, as well as extensive book reviews. Each issue devotes space to three regular sections: "Books Received" contains a listing of new monographs; "Recent Books" features an annotated listing relevant to the field of bibliography; and "Recent Periodicals" features published articles germane to bibliography that are categorized by language or place of publication. The journal is indexed yearly. The is an excellent journal that should be subscribed to by large research universities, and those libraries that support programs in the history of the book and rare-book librarianship.
