Literature and Theology

01-16-2013 Literature and Theology, published by Oxford University Press, straddles the disciplines of religion and literature (from ancient to modern), offering scholarly examinations of literary texts that cover a range of theological, biblical, historical, and cultural issues. Many of the articles rely upon close literary analysis of particular works of literature, but other methodologies are also included (e.g., historical analyses). Each issue contains approximately five research essays, as well as several book reviews. The variety of topics and literary works considered makes this journal a fascinating read for scholars across the social science and humanities disciplines. Lay readers may also find it of interest. Recommended for large public libraries and most academic libraries, particularly those that support programs in theology, biblical studies, or literary criticism. (Bales, Stephen)
