IMA Journal of Applied Mathematics

01-16-2013 The IMA Journal of Applied Mathematics (historically the Journal of the Institute of Mathematics and its Applications) is published by that institute (IMA) (www.ima.org.uk). The IMA "exists to support the advancement of mathematical knowledge and its applications[,] and to promote and enhance mathematical culture." The IMA also publishes the IMA Journal of Numerical Analysis (not listed in this section). The IMA Journal of Applied Mathematics focuses on "analytic and numerical treatments of both physical and non-physical applied mathematical problems." Papers that have applications to more than one field are preferred, and rarely are there surveys "on recent progress in topical fields of mathematics and its applications." There are about 30;b240 articles per year, in 600 pages, with no book reviews. It is available online, with a digital archive available back to volume 1. Recommended for academic libraries.
