True to this statement, the editorial board is composed of international, although mostly British, scholars. Issues include research articles and book reviews only. News of the Society for French Historical Studies is treated in a separate publication, the French Historian. The web site at Oxford University Press provides tables of contents and full text (for subscribers only) from the first volume (1987) to the present, as well as RSS and table of contents notification via e-mail.
