Community Development Journal

01-16-2013 Published quarterly, Community Development Journal "provides an international forum for political, economic and social programmes, which link the activities of people with institutions and government." This scholarly journal covers such topics as community action; village, town, and regional planning; community studies; and rural development. This journal's geographic coverage is international, with a slight emphasis on the United Kingdom. Every article contains an abstract, and each issue includes a handful of book reviews. Beginning in 2012, the journal will be indexed in SSCI and receive its first impact factor. The editors have also created an accompanying web site, CDJ Plus, which provides free access to articles that have received some funding from CDJ, Ltd., an organization associated with the journal. Community Development Journal is recommended for academic libraries that support a comprehensive urban studies collection. (Larsen, Alison)
