Chemical Senses

03-11-2008 Chemical Senses publishes original research and review papers on all aspects of human and animal chemoreception. This includes the gross morphology and fine structure of receptors and central chemosensory pathways; the properties of the stimuli and the nature of the chemical-receptor interaction; and the electrical, biochemical, and behavioral correlates (both animal and human) of neural response to chemosensory stimuli. An important part of the journal's coverage is devoted to techniques and the development and application of new methods for investigating chemoreception and chemosensory structures. The journal is associated with the European Chemoreception Research Organization, the Association for Chemoreception Sciences, and the Japanese Association for the Study of Taste and Smell. Geared to a scholarly/professional audience, Chemical Senses is international in scope and authorship. A recent article is titled "Cross-Modal Interactions Between Olfaction and Touch." On the journal web site at http://chemse.oupjournals.org, users can search for articles and view abstracts from 1994 forward. Only subscribers have free access to full text (February 1998 to the present); nonsubscribers can order individual articles for a fee. An e-mail alerting service is also available. (Palmer, Pamela)
