American Journal of Agricultural Economics

01-12-2009 This well-respected journal contains 15 or so articles in each issue on "the economics of agriculture, natural resources and the environment, and rural and community development." The authors are usually American academics, but the journal include international coverage as well as invited papers, conference proceedings, book reviews, comments and replies, and biographies of recent fellows. Now, the December issue carries the proceedings from the annual meeting of the American Agricultural Association. Substantial signed book reviews are included. A recent issue included the articles: "Brand-Supermarket Demand for Breakfast Cereals and Retail Competition" and "Is There Persistence in the Impact of Emergency Food Aid? Evidence on Consumption, Food Security and Assets in Rural Ethiopia." The Core Historical Literature of Agriculture collection at Cornell University's Albert R. Mann Library offers free electronic access to back issues from 1919 through 1995. Recommended for all colleges and universities with agricultural economics and related programs.
