Scottish Journal of Theology

01-16-2013 According to its editors, this quarterly journal publishes "systematic, historical[,] and biblical theology," serving as "an ecumenical forum for debate." Contrary to its name, this is an international journal that has an editorial board of members hailing from prestigious seminaries and religious studies faculties from across the United States and United Kingdom, and its topic coverage is extensive. Research articles often intersect with philosophical analyses, e.g., "Barth and Buddhism in the Theology of Katsume Takizawa." Along with regular short book reviews, the Scottish Journal of Theology occasionally publishes "article reviews," consisting of article-length reviews of important works on theology. A treasure trove of theological scholarship, this journal is recommended for academic libraries. (Bales, Stephen)
