Behavioral Ecology

Издатель:  Oxford University Press
01-16-2013 This journal covers all aspects of behavioral ecology, including empirical and theoretical work. The complete range of organisms is covered, comprising plants, invertebrates, vertebrates, and humans. Behavioral Ecology considers the field broadly, dealing with "the use of ecological and evolutionary processes to explain the occurrence and adaptive significance of behavior patterns," as well as "the use of behavioral processes to predict ecological patterns" and "empirical, comparative analyses relating behavior to the environment in which it occurs." Original articles, review articles, and a forum section with commentaries on recent issues are all included. The official journal of the International Society for Behavioral Ecology, the title has been gaining in prominence and should be considered by academic libraries. Articles are appropriate for undergraduates through specialists. Online material appears in advance of print publication. Lay summaries are provided for each article for the general reader, a feature this reviewer would like to see other journals adopt. (Lowrie, Reed)
