Journal of Germanic Linguistics

Издатель:  Cambridge University Press
01-16-2013 This is the premier journal for the study of the Germanic languages, including English up to 1500, in the English-speaking world (English is the language of most articles, although those in German are also considered). It presents articles that cover a wide range of general topics in linguistics, from formal analyses of phonological, morphological, syntactic, and semantic features of the Germanic languages, to aspects of these languages' historical development. Articles tend to be technical and focused on highly specialized topics, although reflections of a more general nature may appear as well. Each year, the fourth issue is a theme issue, the most recent being "Germanic Languages and Migration in North America." The journal encourages articles that treat general conceptual issues in theoretical issues in the profession, sociolinguistics, and psycholinguistics. Includes one or two substantial book reviews per issue. A recommended purchase for academic collections at large research institutions. Published by the Society for Germanic Linguistics.
