Journal of the History of Economic Thought

Издатель:  Cambridge University Press
03-15-1995 The Journal of the History of Economic Thought is published by the History of Economics Society. The board of editors is composed of university professors from the United States, Canada, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, France, and the Netherlands. Likewise, authors of the articles form an international group. The journal publishes scholarly articles on aspects of the works of famous economists. Many of the articles are descriptive, but some use statistical and mathematical methods in their presentations. Signed book reviews and the "Notes and Communications" section complete the issue. The provisional program of the society's annual meeting was outlined in a recent issue. Sample articles include "Derailing Value Theory: Adam Smith and the Aristotelian Tradition," "The School of Mathematical Formalism and the Viennese Circle of Mathematical Economists," "Biological Analogies in Marshall's Work," "Henry George and the Environment," and "Schumpeter on Invention, Innovation and Technological Change." Journals such as Economic History Review, Explorations in Economic History, and the Journal of Economic History are better known, but the quality of the articles in the Journal of the History of Economic Thought is just as high. Recommended for all economic history collections.
