The journal favors no particular theoretical approach, but aims to provide a forum for original, cutting-edge contributions to, and discussion of, advances in all branches of theoretical linguistics. All covered in this journal are syntax, morphology, phonology, phonetics, semantics, and pragmatics, as well as historical, sociological, computational, and psychological aspects of language and linguistic theory. In keeping with the journal's status as the premier journal of general theoretical linguistics, some 30 book reviews are included in every issue.
