01-16-2013 The articles in JLAS chiefly focus on the social sciences, history, international relations, politics, indigenous peoples, and specific topics such as colonization/decolonization and land reform. One valuable aspect of the journal is the many book reviews that cover a wide variety of recent publications. Highly recommended for academic libraries that serve Latin American Studies programs (especially programs focused on the topics listed above) and, because of its breadth, possibly for public libraries that serve Latino/Chicano populations.
