03-22-2007 This journal publishes, in English and French, both theoretical and descriptive studies on all aspects of French language and linguistics, including phonology, morphology, syntax, lexis, applied linguistics, sociolinguistics, variation, and French language acquisition. "Most work is synchronic in orientation, but historical and comparative items are welcome." A recent issue is devoted to French language acqusition. American French was the topic in "Inanimate interrogatives and settlement patterns in Francophone Louisiana." There are usually five articles (20 to 30 pages long) and nine book reviews (800 words each) per issue. This publication is useful to academic researchers and other specialists in French linguistics.
