01-16-2013 For more than 50 years, the Journal of African Law has addressed the laws and legal issues of the entire sub-Saharan continent. Published by Cambridge University Press for the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, this journal highlights comparative legal issues and those of international significance. A separate section covers recent legislation, case law, law reform proposals, and international developments that affect Africa. The scope includes criminal law, family law, human rights, and nationality and constitutional law. Articles are on such topics as law and development in Nigeria; corporate criminal liability in South Africa; and African law of coups and the situation in Eritrea. This journal is geared toward development workers and policymakers, as well as academics and professional lawyers, with a focus on African institutions;b1laws, enforcement mechanisms, and organizations;b1so the better understanding of the institutions and their histories will promote development on the continent.
