Behavioral and Brain Sciences

Издатель:  Cambridge University Press
01-16-2013 This Cambridge online publication is an international journal of current scholarly research in psychology, neuroscience, behavioral biology, and cognitive science. In addition to research articles, the journal publishes 10;b225 commentaries on each article. The commentaries are written by specialists within and across these disciplines. Written replies of authors are also included. This format makes the journal a forum for communication and criticism, encouraging both debate and unification across its subject areas. Topics range from behavioral and brain science to molecular neurobiology, artificial intelligence, and the philosophy of the mind. Recent issues have covered language and analogy in conceptual change; representation development, perceptual learning, and concept formation; the prehistory of the number concept; arguing, reasoning, and the interpersonal cultural functions of human consciousness; reasoning as a lie detection device; conscious thinking, acceptance, and self-deception; honest smiles as a costly signal in social exchange; mimicry and simulation in gesture comprehension; and eye contact and the social brain. This is an important journal for academic and research programs in psychology, philosophy, cognitive science, information science, and broader social sciences. (Woolums, Jill)
